About College

The study began at the College of Archaeology and Tourism Guidance in the academic year 2007-2008 based on Ministerial Decision No. 2560 dated 20/9/2007. We aspire to collaborate with the Arab-Egyptian community for the advancement of such studies.

The College of Archaeology and Tourism Guidance, Misr University for Science and Technology is committed to providing a highly qualified, innovative, creative, professional and morally committed graduate in line with scientific developments, to meet the needs of the labour market, active in community service and environmental development, and achieve sustainable development.

The College of Archaeology and Tourism Guidance aspires to become a distinguished developed educational institution in its academic programs, scientific research, and community service, both on the regional and international levels.

The College of Archeology and Tourism Guidance at Misr University for Science and Technology is unique because it links archaeology and tourism guidance in five different departments: Ancient Egyptian Archaeology, Islamic Archaeology, Restoration and Conservation of Antiquities, and Tourism Guidance. The college also includes a unique department at the level of the corresponding faculties in Egypt, the Department of Arab Peninsula Archeology. The college aims to prepare a graduate capable of taking responsibility, advancing society, and keeping pace with scientific developments.

The college takes into consideration the importance of collaborations, projects and research, these are some of them:

  1. Restoration Project- Tomb in Deir al- Medina 

Restoration and maintenance of Tombs in Deir El-Medina (Tomb N 265), in collaboration with the IFAO (Institut Français d’Archéologie Orientale).

2. Participation in the Russian Excavation Mission

Participation of one of the faculty’s teachers assistants in the excavation mission of the Russian university.

3. Archaeological Excavation Mission in Saqqara, Giza – Tabbet al-Geish (MUST)

Program of Study

The College awards bachelor’s degrees to graduates of all its departments; the student has to pass the designated credit hours to each department to qualify for the bachelor’s degree.

The bachelor’s degree in Egyptian Archaeology, Islamic Archaeology or the Archaeology and civilization of the Arabian peninsula requires: one hundred and forty-four (144) credits

The bachelor’s degree in restoration and maintenance of monuments or Tourism guidance requires: one hundred and fifty (150) credits.

In addition to 50 hours of scientific trips training to visit archaeological sites and museums according to each department’s specialization.
